Of all this year’s 12 finalists on the UK’s X Factor, Jamie Archer, aka Jamie Afro, is probably the one to beat.

He gave a stunning rendition of U2’s “With or Without You” during the boot-camp section of the show and his initial audition, where he sang Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire” was phenomenal and brought the house down.

At 34 years old, Jamie is the oldest of the contestants, but his age should not be a handicap given his immense talent.

As a pub singer, Jamie is used to performing in public, but not in front of such a massive audience as the X Factor commands. Still, so far it doesn’t seem to have fazed him. He appears to be in his element and is now definitely one of the favourites to win the show.

Want to plan a special day for the bride to be before her big day?  Plan an relaxing and fun filled day for her by choosing just the right bridal shower favors.  Choose a theme that is a favorite of the bride, such as a day at the spa.  Arrange for everyone to have a day of manicures, pedicures, and massages while relaxing around the pool while drinking lots of drinks with little umbrellas.  The bridal shower favors can be personalized bags filled with nail polishes, manicure and pedicure tools, lotions and other such items so the guests can continue to pamper themselves long after the party is over.  They will remember such a day of relaxation for a long time to come with fond memories of the bride the shower was for.

Of all the board game I play and have played in the past I believe Scrabble to be the best of all. It is educational and encourages use of the dictionary to look up valid words. It is great for developing young children with their spelling and improving their potential and their school grades. I do play other games like Monopoly, Chess, Snakes & Ladders and many different card games but I always return to Scrabble. Even old Scrabble sets are great fun. Letters can be missing but you can spell out your name and stick the letters to your bedroom door. You can make someone a birthday card with the letters spelling out your greeting. Imagine their delight to get a homemade card with a stuck on message. You might even be lucky enough to come across a very old set at a garage sale which could well include ‘real’ wooden tiles instead of the plastic tiles in sets nowadays.

On a rainy day there is not much to do except be lazy and hang out at home. Often times that means lying around on the couch watching movies all day. Why not take on the task of a magic movie marathon with your kids. Now this can be all sorts of movie styles. For instance the Harry Potter series itself would take you literally 2 full days probably to watch. There are like 6 movies with a couple more on the way. All of them are great and depict all kinds of magic and sorcery. Every kid and adult for that matter love Harry Potter.  Another option would be to check out different movies with magic in them. This would include The Illusionist, The Craft and many others. Some are darker than others but nothing any darker than some of the Harry Potter movies so the kids should be fine.

If you are looking to get into the exciting world of barstool racing then you have two choices, you can build your own of you can buy one second hand. Real men build their own so you will have to find a cheap stool to get started. The best might be oak bar stools or if possible a teak wooden bar stool if you’re not going to go with the traditional metal one.

I just just experienced my first Baby Shoe Charm Shower! What a cool idea. I had never even heard of it until recently. In a nutshell, why the mother is receiving all of the wonderful gifts for the baby, there is really nothing for her. Here she is pregnant, kind of emotional, tired, nervous and she keeps getting presents for the baby and nothing for her. Thinking about it like that, I would get a little irritated too.

Ta -da..comes the baby shoe charm shower. Either a group or an individual can give the expectant mother to be a charm bracelet with a baby shoe charm on it, or several baby shoe charms, or some kind of baby theme. The mother is thrilled that someone thought of HER first..the gift is unique and then the gift keeps giving. How? I find it comical how people like to insult the game of cornhole bean bag toss.  Yes, I must concede that the name of the sport is regrettable, but it certainly requires skill and talent.  It is not nearly as easy as it looks.

If you doubt what I say then give cornhole a whirl and see for yourself.  I defy you to score higher than a ten during your first several games if you’re playing against a more experienced competitor.  If you want to excel in the game then you really need to develop your own style and manner of tossing.  Some people like to pitch it end over end while others like to sling it sideways.

The bottom line is that you need to find your own groove and just practice, practice, practice.  There really is no other way to become an accomplished cornhole player.
