Motorhome Awnings

Many motorhome owners like to increase living space by fitting an awning to their camper van or caravan. They are also very versatile, and can be used for extra storage space for dirty clothes and boots. There are many different sizes and designs to choose from, and there is something to fit any size motorhome.

A popular choice is the free standing motorhome awning, which gives a lot more freedom to move from site to site without having to take all the fittings and canopy down each time. These are also called driveaway awnings because you can just unclip and drive away to enjoy other places when you are on holiday. When you return from your trip, you simply re-attach your motorhome to the awning. The prices for these models is not as much as you may think, and they are easily customisable to give even bigger sleeping and storage space.

A Compound Bow Adjusts With You

The great thing about the compound bow and the aspect of it that makes it so versatile and popular is that it can be adjusted to match the stature and capabilities of anyone. The draw weight can be changed as can the draw length.

When you ability improves with the experience of constant use you can increase the bow’s power by tightening adjustment bolts that are usually located somewhere on the bow’s limbs.

Say you’ve got a bow from Alpine Archery and it was set to be a moderately fast bow, when your confidence increases and your accuracy improves, you might want to boost the bow’s power and this can be done with a simple adjustment. All it takes is the use of a wrench and a minute or two of your time and you have turned your bow into a faster, stronger bow.

Fishing Streams Is Often Overlooked

Many fisherman watch all the bass tournaments and shows on espn and other outdoor networks and think they need to be fishing large lakes to catch quality bass.  I’m from an area that really doesn’t offer much in the way of quality fishing lakes or ponds but we have an abundance of small streams and rivers.  While most people I see fishing these rivers are usually after catfish and the occasional panfish they are overlooking the small mouth and large mouth bass that these bodies of water hold.  Lots of fisherman think you need to fly fish in streams but that is just not true.  Ignore what you see on television , grab your fly fishing waders

, spinning rod and tackle selection and you will be surprised at the amount of bass you can catch.  Using live baits like night crawlers or crayfish work especially well in landing nice sized small mouth.   Look for streams with rocky bottoms that have a decent flow and you will be sure to find a bass lurking just outside of the main current.

Inground Pool Accessories

It’s summertime and if you happen to be one of the lucky homeowners that owns an inground pool, its time to get wet and cool off. Temperatures are rising and nothing helps to take the heat off than a fun afternoon in the pool. Swimming alone can be fun, but introducing pool accessories and toys can bring your pool part to the next level. Two of the best pool party accessories these days are the basketball hoop and the volleyball net.

Shooting B-ball in the pool is always a fast way to get a party going. The basketball hoops can come in a variety of materials and sizes. Just make sure the ball fits through the hoop. Also make sure that the hoop you buy can be safetly anchored to the pool deck. Most hoops will have a base that fills with water or sand to make them heavy and solid. The last thing you want while making your dunk from downtown, is to have the hoop come falling on your head.

Volleyball is another great pool activity that will be great for large groups. The bigger the inground pool the better. Whats great about this activity is you can use the same volleyball net that you use in your backyard to play in your swimming pool (at least for most pool designs – always measure first). Again just make sure the net is anchored or weighted down so that it doesn’t injure anyone. Once you have the net up and the poles secured, let it rip and spike it in your opponent’s face.

Both of these inground pool accessories are cheap to setup, easy to play and will bring hours of fun to any party. Make sure to hit the store or repurpose your existing equipment next time you throw a pool party. If these two activities don’t float your boat, visit a pool supply store in your local neighborhood. There are plenty more games and toys to spice up the party. Enjoy your summer!

How To Properly Care For Your Hunting Knives

How do you make your knives last for years? Obviously by keeping them well maintained.

First, you need to realize that knives have a specific purpose and should not be used for something it was not designed for. For example, you should never use a knife for digging or chopping. This could damage the blade making it non-repairable or worse, cause injury. Storing your knife in a sheath is also a bad idea because the moisture that forms in the sheath can cause pitting in the blade. It is best to keep your knives in open, dry air if possible.

You can hand wash your blade with a gentle detergent and wipe the handle with a damp cloth, but make sure you dry it thoroughly or rust can set in. Keep the blade sharp and if it is a carbon steel blade, give it a light coating of wax instead of oil. Following these few tips can give you years of satisfaction from your dependable hunting knives.

Aspects To Consider Before Building A Log Cabin

Building a log cabin is quite an ideal endeavor that is far from simple. To make sure there will be no problem in the future when all the logs are already in place and it is close to impossible to make changes or revisions on the log house that is already finished, it is best to plan ahead and consider all the aspects needed before building a log cabin. Be sure not to leave any stone unturned before you even have that first log placed on the construction site. The things that need to be taken in consideration, such as who to choose as the log home producer, which general contractor to get, how much will the construction cost, who will build it, is there a need for a mortgage financing and how much and a lot more other questions need to be addressed before going through it!

Practice Setting Up Your Tent

If you are going camping with a tent, then it is  really good idea to practice setting it up first before you head out. Setting up a tent isn’t usually a hard task, however if you haven’t done it before then it can prove to be a pretty arduous process. Once you get

the hang of it you will be able to set it up in no time at all. Some tents are pretty big, and if you have a 6 man tent, or even a 10 man tent, you will have a hard time when you first go to set it up. You also can’t predict the weather. You might get there and it is very rainy and windy conditions, not the ideal time to set up a tent. If you have an idea how to do it, then it won’t take you very long, and you won’t have to struggle against the bad conditions. So, if you haven’t done so, set up your tent a few times in your own backyard, and save time and frustrations when you go camping.

Making Camping Enjoyable For Kids

Our family has been taking camping trips since our kids were in diapers.  I was talking with a neighbor the other day who was going on his first family camping trip.  He has seen us packup the tents, sleeping bags and cooking gear many times and asked for a few tips on how to make the trip enjoyable for the kids.  Probably one of the most over looked this that parent do is not thinking of their kids comfort in the tent at night.  Oh sure adults will almost always have nice pads or cots to sleep on but the expect the kids to put their sleeping bags on the hard ground.   You can drastically improve their camping experience by getting a small adjustable air matteress for them to sleep on.  The kind the kids would use to float on at the pool or lake is better than nothing.  This will allow them to get a good nights sleep and be ready to tackle each day’s activities with a much better attitude.  So when you plan your family outing make sure that you consider the kids comfort as well as your own.
