Garage door repair, looking to the door styles
Garage doors have traveled the gammet. Not that long ago the car itself came onto the scene and a construction shift occured. It used to be that every home had a barn for the horse. Today most homes have a garage for the car. Cars need protected. The doors themselves have gone from the side hinged two door style that meets in the center of the opening. Garage door repair was fairly simple for that type. Hinges and sagging doors were the worst of the lot.
Then there is the canopy doors. I can see old movies with garage door sticking out into the driveway. These doors were of one solid peice and opened over head. Part slid into the garage and part stayed outside. Opened by counter balances, springs or the door warping where the two concerns.
Retractable doors, similar to their canopy cousins, just opened all the way into the garage. This prevented people from running or backing taller trailers and trucks into the exposed part of the door.
Sectional doors are the standard today. Garage door parts can be ordered for them. If one part of the door is damaged, the section can be removed and replaced. Doors also should be regularly checked for any build up on the rollers from lubricate, rust on the tracks, and loose bolts.
Garage doors parts are just a part of life when you own something mechancial. While garage door opener parts are another animal all together.
