If you want to go broke on your wedding, it’s easy to do. The average cost of a wedding in 2008 was $28,000. That’s a years salary for a lot of people. So if you’d rather blow all your money on the wedding than have some money in the bank, here’s how to do it. First don’t shop around. Go to the first wedding place you see and walk in ready to buy. Don’t make them work for your business or try to beat competitors prices. Second, have a sit down dinner, the more courses the better. Don’t have an afternoon wedding where hors d’ ouevres would do just find. Make sure to have an open bar with the best liquor too, rather than just wine and beer. One place you don’t want to be cheap though is the photographers. The photos will be the permanent record of your wedding and a keepsake, but again don’t shop around. Just find the most expensive ones you can and don’t ask for references. So now you know how not to have a budget wedding.
