How Carpet Shampooers Work
Although there are different methods you can use to keep your carpets clean, carpet shampooers are very effective for deep, thorough cleaning. Most of these machines have a heater that warms up the water and shampoo. The cleaning mixture is discharged from a tank on the shampooer onto the carpet through small jets on the machine. Rotary brushes then work the cleaner into the carpets and lift the dirt particles and other debris up to the surface of the carpet. The suction feature on the machine then lifts up the dirt and any excess cleaning fluid back up into the machine.
Today’s carpet shampooers usually leave the surface of the carpet just slightly damp, so it usually doesn’t take too long for them to dry. Shampooing your carpets on a regular basis will keep them clean, sanitary, looking great and lasting longer.
