How To Use Weight Loss Tea
For those who need to add a little extra help to their dieting and weight loss programs, there’s a less talked about option- weight loss tea. But before you go out and buy the first tea that you find, make sure you talk to your doctor, a nutritionist and/or a naturopath. You don’t want to be drinking something or taking any type of supplement without first making sure that it will help rather than harm. And some supplements and teas can be dangerous if there is a chronic medical condition or if you taking certain medications.
Weight loss tea is usually used in conjuction with a low-calorie diet and a reasonable exercise program. The tea alone will not cause you to lose weight, although for some it can help raise metabolism (depending on the type you use) and it can help prevent water retention. Many of these teas are more used for the purpose of a diuretic or a type of detox.
Most types of tea caffeine- especially those marketed for weight loss. It is not for those with a sensitivity to caffeine or for those with heart conditions, some other chronic conditions also require the restriction of caffeine. In this case, while weight loss is important and can improve your health, sometimes it’s safer to lose weight at a slower pace rather than risk your life.
So now you’ve decided to buy weight loss tea. What brand do you purchase? This is where it’s a good idea to check consumer reviews, check the ingredients of each type and brand, and make sure you understand what each ingredient is supposed to be for. There are many good brands of tea out there to help you lose weight, shop around. You can always try one type and switch to another later.
Don’t be deceived by fancy names or fancy ingredients that you can’t even pronounce. When you purchase weight loss tea, look for organic, all natural ingredients- the less processed, the better. Tea that’s not been overly processed or artificially dried or had artificial flavors or ingredients added is much healthier and far more effective.
Finally, follow the instructions on the box very carefully when using weight loss tea. Most have specific instructions about how to brew the tea, what you could/should sweeten it with (sugar shouldn’t be used to sweeten any type of herbal or dieter’s tea!), how much to drink at any given time, how often you should drink it, and will tell you whether or not it should be drank before or with meals. Following the instructions carefully will ensure that you get the maximum benefit of your tea, and also will help keep potential side effects to a minimum.
