Lose Body Fat Sleeping
Did you know that you can start losing body fat simply by sleeping longer? That may sound too good to be true but studies have shown that those who get at least 8 hours of sleep per night tend to be thinner and have a smaller BMI than those who get less sleep.
How is this possible? The answer is two-fold. Firstly, if you are sleeping for longer periods of time, there is simply less time in the day where you could be snacking unnecessarily. Secondly, lack of sleep can interfere with your natural hormonal balance by reducing the amount of leptin in the body. This lowering of leptin levels can actually increase your appetite and but you at greater risk for cravings throughout the day. So enjoy your sleep; it’s helping you lose body fat and keeping you healthy.
