Opening your garage door when the power is out
One of the many inconveniences of power outages is that your electric garage door probably won’t be functional. The easiest answer is to check your garage door opener manual to see if there is a manual way to open the door by hand without needing electricity. This can be difficult and back-breaking work, but may be the only way to get your car in and out of the garage until the electricity comes back on. There may be a special release that you need to throw before opening the door by hand so definitely make sure that you consult your manual before trying to open it. If all doors could simply be opened by hand, this would be a huge security concern so most doors have a mechanism to avoid this.
