Portable Electric Heaters
If you need a portable source of electric heat, there are several styles of portable resistance heaters. Many distribute the heat to the room with a fan that blows heat through the heating coils. Portable heaters produce enough heat to warm small rooms. Avoid use with extension cords and be cautious that power cords to the units do not overheat. There are also other portable models that do not use a fan to distribute heat – radiant heaters and convection heaters, for example. Heaters that use a fan to distribute the heat produce a slight whirring sound that some people find annoying. If this is the case for you, then check into another model of heater that does not use a fan.
