Shower Commode Chairs
People who are physically challenged often need assistance when using a shower. For these people, there are wheeled or shower commode chairs. These chairs provide sturdy support for handicapped people who want to sit in the shower.
A shower commode chair allows people in wheelchairs to either wheel themselves into the shower or be wheeled in by a caregiver. This means the user doesn’t have to be transferred from a wheelchair to a different seat in order to take a shower.
These chairs are built with the physically challenged person in mind. The wheels are usually swivel casters with safety locks so the chair can be locked in place. They are also made from corrosion-resistant materials such as PVC, stainless steel, and aluminum.
On most of these chairs, the seat has an opening in the middle. This allows a chamber pot or pail to be attached below the seat for the convenience of the user.
A benefit of shower commode chairs is that they give people with disabilities more control over their bathing routine.
