When you head outdoors in winter to go skiing, you want to have good ski equipment, which includes clothing. With the right clothing, you’ll be more comfortable, be able to move well without feeling restricted and you’ll stay out on the snow longer, having more fun. Fun is what it’s all about, right?

Ski pants are an important part of your ski clothing set. You need pants that are warm, comfortable, keep the snow / water out, don’t let the wind in and make it easy to move in. As with about anything in life, you’re going to get what you pay for. I think the same is true with ski pants. You can get the cheap ski pants but then all you’ve got is cheap ski pants. That might not be a big deal if you only go a few times a year but even if you do, you want those pants to last for some time, so why not get good ones?

Some features you may want are side vents, belt loops, pockets, adjustable waist band and articulated knees, which help you flex and move. Having them waterproof inside and outside is also something to look for – versus fleece or cotton lined… yuk! And one extra, side tip: make sure they don’t wake the dead when you walk in them. Loud ski pants can be embarrassing.
