It is very easy to get caught up with setting up your tent and it is important that you know exactly what you are doing. No matter what kind of tent you have it is a good idea that you actually learn to set it up before you leave the house. If you have not done so then it is likely that you will encounter some conditions that you find hard to handle. This can be a real pain, as it is hard to set up your tent for the first time when it is really windy or when it is raining. Set it up a few times in your backyard and you will find it really helps to get it done quicker when you are actually there. If you have a big tent like a 6 man family tent then you will notice that it can be extra difficult and this step is even more important.

Guide to Camping Beds

Far be it from me to sound sexist, but I have found that a large number of women don’t like to go camping as much as their husbands and boyfriends do. The complaints are long and wide-ranging, but they usually center around the fact that you have to do without some things when you’re camping out in the woods. Things like running water, toilets, and a comfortable place to sleep.

Well, I can’t do anything about the running water or toilet situation, but I can help with a comfortable place to sleep. The solution is to bring along a camping bed. Camping beds are foldable, lightweight beds that can fit into just about any pack and will make for a much more pleasant camping experience. Guys, try enticing your wife with one of these and she might actually enjoy your next trip.

If you are a new camper then it is really important that you are going to buy the right equipment. This will ensure that your camping experience is a good one, and you will enjoy yourself much more. It also makes sure that you are safe. There are a few things that you need to remember. Obviously you should get a tent, you will need to figure out hat kind is best for you here. There are a lot of choices and it can get quite overwhelming. You should also look at camping lanterns. These will keep you safe because you will be able to see what you are doing. You also need to get stuff like insect repellent, sleeping bags, appropriate clothing and of course bags to carry your gear in.

Making Camping Enjoyable For Kids

Our family has been taking camping trips since our kids were in diapers.  I was talking with a neighbor the other day who was going on his first family camping trip.  He has seen us packup the tents, sleeping bags and cooking gear many times and asked for a few tips on how to make the trip enjoyable for the kids.  Probably one of the most over looked this that parent do is not thinking of their kids comfort in the tent at night.  Oh sure adults will almost always have nice pads or cots to sleep on but the expect the kids to put their sleeping bags on the hard ground.   You can drastically improve their camping experience by getting a small adjustable air matteress for them to sleep on.  The kind the kids would use to float on at the pool or lake is better than nothing.  This will allow them to get a good nights sleep and be ready to tackle each day’s activities with a much better attitude.  So when you plan your family outing make sure that you consider the kids comfort as well as your own.

Camping with a 5th Wheel Camper

Taking your 5th wheel camper on a camping trip can be a great adventure.  Not only will you have an amazing time on vacation, but you will also have a comfortable trip.  Towing a 5th wheel camper along with you will provide you with all the amenities of home.  You can stop at any campsite and have a comfortable bed for the night.  Most 5th wheel campers are large enough to contain a full bathroom with either a shower or small tub as well.  They will also have a kitchen area and dining or seating area.  As well as a bedroom, there will be a comfortable living area such as a couch and chairs and perhaps even a t.v. and dvd player will be included for those rainy days that you’d like to spend indoors. Bring along a selection of books to stock up a mini library for those rainy days as well.  Many campgrounds have a trading book library where you can get new books by simply exchanging in a few of those of your own you are finished with.
