A tropical island vacation can be hard to organize if you do not know what to look for. For American citizens, the Caribbean offers the perfect destination for any type of vacation. As an added bonus, flight and accommodation costs are at an all-time low with the horrific recession hitting the United States. Resorts and airlines are desperate to fill rooms and seats, and the consumer can benefit immensely from their desperation.
Good tropical islands in the Caribbean include Jamaica, Cuba (still restricted for United States citizens), Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. All of these islands have multiple flights from hubs such as Miami coming in every day, and the flights are much cheaper than going to somewhere in the South Pacific or Hawaii. Some of the major airlines flying to the Caribbean include American Airlines, Jet Blue, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Continental, Air Jamaica, Air Canada, and Northwest Airlines. To keep prices down it is best to fly to Miami on a short hop and then look for a local carrier for the islands.

There are so many places to choose for a perfect Caribbean honeymoon, here are my top five.
Antigua
With 365 beaches to choose from, Antigua is a beach lover’s paradise. You can snorkel, dive and swim to your hearts content.
Aruba
The perfect place to visit year round as Aruba has little to no rainfall and it’s outside the Caribbean hurricane belt so you don’t have worry about a stormy honeymoon.
The Bahamas
Not just one island, but 700 different sized islands to choose from. Most of the resorts are located in Nassau and Paradise Island. The Bahamas are one of the easiest locations in all the Caribbean to get to from the USA.
Cancun
On Mexico’s coast, Cancun is often thought of as the Caribbean’s number one tourist hot spot. Cancun has everything you could wish for, amazing beaches, golf courses, shopping and nightlife.
St Lucia
Often referred to as Little Hawaii because of its stunning rainforests, drive through volcano and breathtaking landscapes. St Lucia is perfect for those couples who want to get away from the tourist traps.
