I am not sure what it is, but there is something very interesting about walking on or over lights. If you are planning on building a deck, why not add deck lights? This is a great way to light the path for your guests as they walk on your deck. These lights also add beauty and value to your home. Adding lights in the ground opens up your outdoor living area. Made of durable materials, the lights allow you to walk over them without breakage. Be sure to check online for the many different styles available. If your existing deck is in need of lighting, there is a solar lighted option. With the solar light, there are no wires to be installed and ditches to be dug. These lights are waterproof and maintenance free. Your deck lighting can change the whole appearance of your deck and your back yard. Lighting your deck will expand your living area and increase your enjoyment of it.

take the energy of sunlight and convert it to electricity.  The electricity is then stored in a battery within the casement of the solar light and at night is used to generate light from the lamp.

During the day the light does not shine due to a light sensitive switch which keeps the solar light turned off if there is sufficient natural light already.  The solar lights will come on automatically and continue to shine until either there is sufficient light to trip the light switch once more or the battery is drained.

In practice it is usually the latter as the battery has sufficient energy to only keep the lamps shining for six to eight hours each night. This does not tend to be a problem however as this would be the early hours of the morning and thus a time when most folk were safely wrapped up in bed.
