Analogue Watches are usually thought to be outdated when compared to digital watches. Digital watches usually come with heaps of functions and additional features that help the user complete small everyday activities. In specific, sporting activities like keeping precise times and heart rates can be successfully recorded on a digital watch. In addition, because they have a LCD screen and buttons, they are seen as futuristic.

So with all these benefits, why do people still by analogue watches? Well it is down to one factor, class. Analogue watches are traditional and viewed as classy. They tie in well with suits and formal attire because this type of dress is traditional and classy in itself. In addition, since these watches are usually worn with this attire at events, the extra features are simply not required. Analogue watches loose in the battle for features and functions, however, are the winners when it comes to flair.

Chronograph watches have been a particularly useful addition to the regular timepiece. Us humans are obsessed with calculating, measuring and managing things and chronograph technology has enabled us to do that with much more ease and precision than before.

There are two areas of life that have benefited greatly from the invention of chronograph watches: Sports and Military. As you can imagine the human need for competition runs deep and expresses itself through sports. With the chronograph watch you can measure and compare the speeds of runners, swimmers and so forth and create a very competitive spirit of improvement among participants. You could say that the invention of the chronograph has done powerful things for the improvement of athletes who compete against times now, rather than people.

Military has also benefited a lot from chronograph watches as they can now hold their members to set standards and sift out low performing men and women. Making sure that members of the military meet a certain high standard of fitness has and will continue to save lives in the field of duty.

Obviously the people who will value chronograph watches the most are anyone who wants to measure and time an event. The more data you can collect about something of importance the easier it will be to identify places to improve upon and that’s what the chronograph watch does, spurs improvement.

I have been trying to decide what to get my brother for his birthday. It’s really hard sometimes to think of the right gift. I am thinking about getting him a high end watch. I really think that this would be a great gift for him because he doesn’t have to very nice watch right now and he is always reaching for his phone to try and figure out what time it. He also is not very good at keeping up with it and may be a new watch would help him. I am a little worried that he may have a problem whenever he has to get his watch repaired.I have actually been really surprised to find out that there is all sorts of really great prices on watches. I don’t know if this is because the economy is in the shape that it is in right now or if they are just doing really great sales on watches. I think that right now is a perfect time to go ahead and get one because they are such a great deal.
