What Should You Wear When You Work Out?

If you’re trying to get in shape and are including an exercise routine (which you should be) than you might have overlooked a very important element…what you wear.  It may not sound important but your exercise clothing really can help make a difference.

A lot of people think that if they work out wearing heavy sweat shirts and sweat pants they will lose more weight more quickly.   This is true, but only to a point.

The weight you would lose by wearing this type of exercise clothing is water weight.  You aren’t losing any more body fat, just sweating more and losing water.  This loss is only temporary and you will gain the weight back as soon as you re-hydrate yourself.

That brings me to another point.  Wearing heavy exercise clothing in order to lose weight more quickly is not only a temporary fix it can also be dangerous since what you’re really doing is dehydrating your body.

Dehydration can lead to many health problems both immediate and down the road.

The bottom line is that to get the most out of your workout you want to wear the right exercise clothing, something that will let your body breathe, keep you cool and is loose enough so that you can move easily.
