Wine Goblets – Different for Red and White Wine

The easiest way to distinguish between red and white wine goblets is to look at the size. Red wine goblets are larger and tend to have a wider bowl feel to them that small white wine glasses which tend to be narrower. The red wine goblets are this larger shop to expose more surface area of the wine to keep it at a nice room temperature and even to allow the heat from you hand as you grip the base of the bowl of the glass to gently warm the wine. With white wine which is usually served chilled, the narrower glass seeks to keep the wine cool, and the glass should always be gripped by the stem to not transfer the heat from your hands to the glass and therefore warm the wine too quickly.
