Wusthof Gourmet Knife versus Wusthof Classic Knife

One of the most important cooking utensils you must have in your kitchen is cutlery. This means that choosing the right set of knives should not be overlooked or even taken lightly. I’ve seen quite a few different brands of kitchen knives in my lifetime and I would be lying if I said that Wusthof wasn’t good. Wusthof kitchen knives very popular worldwide but they carry a wide range of knives differing in quality. In this article, I propose to discuss the difference between two particular collections – the Gourmet and the Classic collection.

The Wusthof Gourmet knives are stamped whilst the Wusthof Classic knives are forged. Essentially, the difference between these two manufacturing techniques is that stamped blades end up to be thinner than forged blades. As such, the Gourmet collection is of a lower quality than the forged Classic knives. The only upside is that they are significantly cheaper.
